Jeep Compass Black Edition

After the Compass Black Look Concept unveiled in March at the Geneva Motor Show, Jeep has now unveiled the production version called the Compass Black Edition. As its name suggests, this special edition comes with a unique Black look that offers a more distinctive appearance and personality.
For the special edition model, Jeep has added black-gloss inserts, black-gloss headlamps and fog lamp surrounds, black roof rails and step pads, and a new set of 18-inch black-gloss aluminum wheels. Under the hood, the Compass Black Edition has received a 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine delivering a total of 163 hp and a peak torque of 236 lbs-ft.
This special edition will be offered with an active Freedom Drive I four-wheel-drive system featuring Lock mode. The system is designed to give drivers year-round assurance with the ability to handle rough weather and low-traction conditions as well as slick roads that come with rain and light snow.

Smart Fortwo Iceshine Edition

The Smart Fortwo has received yet another special edition. Orders for the new Fortwo Iceshine Edition will be taken starting this month, while the first deliveries will be made in October 2012. The model can be ordered in either white or exclusive azure blue and will be priced from ?14,490 - about $18,200. Only 1800 units will be produced.
The white or the azure blue exterior paint of the Smart Fortwo Iceshine Edition will be combined with white tridion safety cell, white alloy wheels in new 3-double-spoke design, LED daytime driving lights, and a special logo on the mirror triangle.
For the interior, the model gets exclusive leather-effect seats with a white fabric insert on the backrest and white stitching, as well as a 3-spoke leather sports steering wheel with shift paddles and white stitching. The list of standard equipment will include automatic gear program, electric windows, air conditioning with automatic temperature control, and a panoramic roof with sun-blind.

After debuting the 2013 BMW 7-Series, BMW has now unveiled the new Alpina B7 super-high performance luxury sedan with more performance, fresh design features, and improved efficiency. The new model will make its world debut at the Pebble Beach Concourse d’Elegance in August with sales to begin immediately after. Prices will start at $127,600 (B7 Standard Wheelbase), $130,600 (B7 SWB with xDrive), $131,500 (B7 Long Wheelbase), and $134,500 (B7 LWB with xDrive).
The new Alpina B7 delivers a total of 540 HP and 538 lbs-ft of torque (an improvement of 40 HP and 22 lbs-ft). Mated to a new Alpina 8- speed high performance transmission, the new B7 will go up to an impressive top speed of 194 mph (up from the previous 175 mph). The 0 to 60 mph sprint is now made in 4.3-4.4 seconds depending on the version.
Also, when compared to the previous model, the new B7 is offered with 30 new parts that will improve both design and aerodynamics. These new parts will include new BMW kidney grilles, updated Xenon Adaptive headlights, LED front fog lights, and updated tail lights. The car now rides on a new set of 21" 20-spoke wheels and is painted in the famous Alpina Blue Metallic paint.

Ducati To Test New Engine At Mugello Next Week
Ducati is to test the latest version of their Desmosedici GP12 engine next week at Mugello. Speaking to MotoMatters.com, Ducati team manager Vitto Guareschi said that Franco Battaini is to start testing the bike, complete with the new engine, next week, in preparation for handing the machine over to Nicky Hayden and Valentino Rossi for a final test on the Monday after the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello. If that test is successful, then both factory Ducati riders will have the new engine available as part of their allocation from Laguna Seca, the race directly after Mugello.
Much rides on the new engine: Valentino Rossi has repeatedly expressed his hopes that the improvements the new engine should offer will allow him to make a big step towards closing the gap with the front runners. That improvement should come from improved driveability, the main focus of development for Filippo Preziosi and the Ducati Corse department. "The aim is to improve the first touch of the throttle," Guareschi said, the area in which the Ducati has suffered the most. "Driveability is very important for the 1000s, even more so than the 800s," Guareschi added. "The 1000s have much more torque than the 800s, which makes it harder for the rider to use the power."
