Valencia MotoGP Test Day 1 Round Up: Of Debuts, Jealousies, And The Confounded Weather
If there is one subject that is getting mind-numbingly tedious to have to write about in motorcycle racing right now, it's the weather. Almost every race this year has lost at least one session to difficult conditions, and we had hoped that the 2013 season might start off a little better. No such luck.
After a dry, clear night, the first rain showers arrived shortly before 10am, when the track was due to open for the test. By the time the track opened, enough rain had fallen to make it slick, greasy and extremely difficult to ride. That put an end to almost everyone's carefully laid plans, leaving large groups of people wandering around and alternating between looking to the skies and carefully examining the track. A few brave souls ventured out on to the track - including Valentino Rossi, at a few minutes after ten, the earliest he has ever taken to the track during testing since I've been following MotoGP, Rossi notoriously ill-disposed to mornings (as, I must admit, am I) - but for the most part, silence prevailed.

Here?s the math: How the three NASCAR championships can be won at Homestead

Want to know how all three points leaders in NASCAR's top three series have to fare to guarantee themselves a title at Homestead this weekend? You've come to the right spot.
In the Sprint Cup Series, leader Brad Keselowski has a 20-point advantage over Jimmie Johnson, which means that even if Johnson wins, a finish of 15th for Keselowski guarantees him the title. If Keselowski leads a lap, it's a 16th-place finish, and if he leads the most laps, it's a 17th-place finish.
If Johnson was to finish second (and didn't lead a lap), Keselowski would need to finish in 23rd place to win the championship, provided he doesn't lead a lap either, as a tie in the points standings would go to Johnson. Since each driver currently has five wins, the tiebreaker goes to second-place finishes, where Johnson has five to Keselowski's three.
Just like the Cup Series, the Nationwide Series points standings separated the top two from each other at Phoenix. That means Ricky Stenhouse's clinch scenario is very similar to Keselowski's, as he holds a 20-point lead over Elliott Sadler. For Stenhouse, 16th with no laps led gets him the title, while 17th with a lap led and 18th with the most laps led are also the thresholds. (Stenhouse has six wins to Sadler's four.)
The Camping World Truck Series has the closest championship battle of the three series and it also has more than two drivers mathematically alive for the title.
James Buescher has an 11-point lead over Timothy Peters and a 12-point lead over Ty Dillon. Joey Coulter is 29 points back and Parker Kligerman is 37 behind, but they're going to need a lot of help (i.e., a very early incident involving Buescher plus other craziness) to grab the title.
Buescher has the edge on both Peters and Dillon in the wins column four to two, so he can clinch with an eighth-place finish and no laps led, or a ninth with a lap led and 10th with the most laps led. If he's ahead of Peters on the track and Dillon is in the lead, he can afford to slide back a position. If Buescher's behind both drivers and below those benchmarks? Well, it becomes an almost-heads up between Peters (two wins) and Dillon (one win).
Got all that? Now you're ready for the final NASCAR weekend of the year. Is it Friday yet?

Video: Justin Bieber Stops Traffic to Confront Paparazzi
| Posted on 11.21.2012 20:00 by Justin Cupler |
Justin Bieber is far from being anywhere near our list of favorite celebrities. So why did we put him on our page? Well, the answer is quite simple: because he is driving a Ferrari 458 Italia, even if he has no clue how to really drive it.
Just the cool car alone is not enough to plaster his boyish mug all over our site, there has to be more. For example, just the other days he got pulled over by the cops and turned out he had an expired registration. Today a video has emerged of a major "diva"-like scene he started recently.
Apparently, "The Bieb" was being followed by paparazzi in Los Angeles, and he wasn’t quite able to shake the media folk in his high-powered supercar. So Justin does the "mature" thing and decides to confront the paparazzi face to face.
Okay, we can appreciate the dude wants a little privacy, but the problem is that he blocked the entire road to do it. During this encounter there are horns blaring away in the background, as people are trying to get to work or maybe their Botox appointments and Beiber just sits there in his white 458 Italia discussing his driving habits. Wow, what a piece of work...
On an aside, the paparazzi guy said Beiber was "driving a little crazy," but he seemed to be driving rather grandma-like in his 562-horsepower supercar.

Valencia MotoGP Test Day 2 Final Times: Pedrosa Leads Crutchlow, Marquez Impresses
The heavy rain promised for the second day of the MotoGP test at Valencia never came, the track drying towards the end of the day, allowing almost everyone to get out and put in a number of laps on a dry track. Dani Pedrosa ended the day on top of the timesheets, posting a time underneath the race lap record, a sign that the condition of the track was good enough at the end. Cal Crutchlow ended as 2nd fastest, a third of a second behind Pedrosa, and a little over a tenth quicker than Stefan Bradl, who has just announced a contract extension with LCR and HRC.
A dry track allowed Marc Marquez to make his debut aboard the RC213V, the young Spaniard making a very impressive debut. Marquez built speed quickly, ending the day a little over a second behind Pedrosa after just 27 laps on the bike, and three tenths slower than Alvaro Bautista. Andrea Dovizioso was also quicker than the first day, finally getting some dry time on the Ducati and ending nine tenths behind Pedrosa. Bradley Smith put in laps on both a damp track and in the dry, finishing the day 2.2 seconds behind Pedrosa.
Times at the end of second day of testing at Valencia:
