McLaren 650S

-->

McLaren has just announced that it is bringing a new car to Geneva, and the Internet is in quite a fury speculating on what it may be. While many think this may be the upcoming Ferrari F12 competitor, codenamed P15, I believe the truth is a little more plebeian.

A few weeks back Autocar UK dropped the news that McLaren was building a competitor for the Ferrari 458 Speciale based on the 12C. The car is rumored to have 650 horsepower and feature extra speed enhancing goodies.

McLaren has already stated that the P15 wont be ready for a few years, and Geneva seems like its too soon to have anything ready to show the public. Additionally with a name like 650S fitting the 650 rumored horsepower rating of the upgraded 12C, it all seems to fit.

So, while the P15 would be amazing, we are most likely looking at a McLaren 12C 650S special edition.

What do you guys think? Do I have the correct prediction, or am I just a blubbering idiot with a keyboard and this is definitely the P15? Sound off in the comments below.
